Football: Wink 34, Jal (N.M.) 12

WINK Shea Abbott scored two touchdowns and three of his teammates scored one each Friday as the Wink Wildcats pulled away to beat Jal (N.M.) 34-12 in a nondistrict game.

Abbott scored on a 23-yard run and also caught at 40-yard touchdown pass from brother Seth Abbott.

Also for the Wildcats (1-1), Steven Barrera, Justin Bennett and Daniel Zipfel all scored rushing touchdowns.

Whatever the offense wasn’t doing, the defense took care of as Wink held Jal to 160 total yards and five first downs.

The Wildcats return to action next week at Tahoka.
