Football: Garden City 62, Rankin 12

RANKIN Josh Colunga scored four touchdowns to help Garden City rout Rankin and take the District 8 Division I title in a game that was stopped in the third quarter because of the 45-point rule.

Colunga, who finished with 183 yards on 14 carrries, had three rushing touchdowns and a 10-yard touchdown reception from Blayne Batla.

Batla finished 10-of-15 for 243 yards and three touchdowns for the Bearkats (9-1 overall, 4-0 District 8 Division 1).

Austin Dupriest led Rankin, carrying the ball 15 times for 116 yards, while completing 9-of-21 passes for 176 yards.

With the loss, Rankin (7-3, 2-2) misses the playoffs.
