Comments 0 | Recommend 0MIDLAND The Rebels spotted the Bulldogs a two-touchdown lead and then roared back for the District 3-5A victory Friday night at Grande Communications Stadium.
Midland Lee (4-5 overall, 2-2 in District 3-5A) clinched a playoff berth with the victory. Midland High falls to 4-5 and 1-3 and needs to defeat Permian and have Odessa High and Abilene Cooper lose next week.
Austin Jumper and Josey Childs each scored two rushing touchdowns for the Rebels.
Childs’ second touchdown of the night, a 1-yard run with 5:04 left to play in the game, capped the scoring.
The Bulldogs had cut the deficit to two, 28-26, on Kendahl Johnson’s 32-yard touchdown pass from Blake Stewart with 17 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
