Girls basketball: Dripping Springs drops Permian

LAMPASAS Permian High School's girls basketball team dropped a 47-36 decision to Dripping Springs on Thursday in its opening game of the Lampasas Tournament.

Italia Calderon scored nine points to lead the Lady Panthers while Shanna Taylor scored eight and Alex Comer had seven.

Permian (2-2) plays twice in the tournament today, at noon against Stephenville and then at 6 p.m. against host Lampasas.
