OHS, Permian Girls; OHS Boys ready for play

>> LADY BRONCHOS AT HOME:  The Odessa High girls basketball team looks to get back in the win column at 7:30 tonight when it plays host to San Angelo Central in a District 2-5A game at the Odessa High Fieldhouse.

The Lady Bronchos (13-9 overall, 3-6 district) are coming off a 55-26 loss to Midland High Saturday. The Lady Cats (10-14, 3-6) lost to Lubbock Monterey 61-23 on Saturday.

Odessa High has been led this season by guards Jeserica Murry and Racquel Acosta and center Deja McKnight.

The Lady Bronchos are looking to avenge a 54-40 loss to San Angelo Central on Nov. 25 in San Angelo. In that game, Odessa High led 35-34 after three quarters.

>> PERMIAN GIRLS AT TASCOSA: The Lady Panthers (4-14 overall, 1-8 in District 2-5A) open the second round of district play at 7:30 tonight when they travel to face Amarillo Tascosa.

In the first meeting, Permian led by 11 points at halftime (26-15), only to watch the Lady Rebels race back for a 51-44 victory at Permian's Fieldhouse.

The Lady Panthers have been led by freshman point guard Cheyenne Swoopes, as well as fellow freshman Jamia Graham and April Williams.

>> OHS BOYS HIT THE ROAD: The Odessa High boys basketball team has had plenty of players turn in solid individual performances this season.

Dalen Brooks, Javorian Guyton, Ronnie Thompson, Tomas Franco and Jeremy Flores have all posted double-digit point totals this season.

Now, the Bronchos (2-15, 1-6 District 2-5A) need to put a series of individual performances together.

Coming off of a pair of tough losses to Permian and Midland High last week, Odessa High will try to get back on track at 7:30 tonight on the road against San Angelo Central.

The Bobcats (10-9, 2-5) pulled off the district's biggest upset by beating Midland High last Tuesday night -- then came crashing back to earth with a loss to Lubbock Monterey on Saturday.
