CLINT In a battle for playoff seeding, Clint (6-4 overall, 3-2 in District 4-3A) raced out to a two-touchdown lead at halftime and never looked back in downing the Eagles (6-4, 3-2) Friday night in Clint.

The victory clinched the district’s top Class 3A Division II berth, while Pecos earned the No. 2 seed in Division II for the district.

Tyler Bott scored two rushing touchdowns to pace the Lions’ first-half attack as they jumped out to a 20-6 lead after two quarters.

After a scoreless third period, Clint’s Alan Segura put the game away with a 24-yard interception return with 4:44 left to play and then watched teammate Thomas Witter add some insurance with a 23-yard touchdown run with 1:39 left in regulation.
