Volleyball: Playoffs continue quickly
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The area round of the Class 1A volleyball playoffs hit the ground running at 6 tonight when Wink and Marfa face off at Pecos High School.
Both schools made the Region I-1A Tournament last season, but one won’t make it more than two rounds in this time around. Marfa is the District 2-1A champion and Wink is the 3-1A runner-up.
Also on the volleyball playoff scene, a dandy tripleheader is scheduled for Saturday at Big Spring Middle School.
It kicks off at 2 p.m. when San Angelo Central faces Lubbock Coronado in a Class 5A area match, followed at 4 p.m. when Monahans plays Sweetwater in a 3A area match.
At 6 p.m., Fort Stockton plays Lubbock Cooper in a 3A area match. The Fort Stockton-Cooper winner will face the Monahans-Sweetwater winner in the regional quarterfinals.
Also, Pecos and Andrews will meet at 5 p.m. Saturday at Midland Lee in a 3A area-round match.
