Football: Kermit 62, Fabens 2

FABENS The Kermit Yellow Jackets amassed more than 500 yards rushing and had three players score multiple touchdowns Friday while opening the season with a 62-2 rout of Fabens.

Gabriel Chavez rushed for two touchdowns and scored on a punt return while Steven Alvarado and Fabian Aranda rushed for two touchdowns apiece.

Joe Pearson and Michael Orona had one receiving touchdown each from quarterback Albert Carrasco, who finished the night 11-of-11 passing for 179 yards.

As a team, Kermit had 537 total yards as Alvarado had 108 rushing yards and Chavez had 100.

The Yellow Jackets play host to Pecos next week at Walton Field.
