Panther on the net
As the world has continued to get tangled in the World Wide Web over the years, so has Permian.
The evolution of one man’s website has reached today’s threshold all the way from 2001… was there even
Internet in 2001?
James Hicks, webmaster of odessapermian.com, said he wanted a site that continued reporting even after football season had finished.
“I’d report on some other sports or on off-season training,” Hicks said. “I also wanted people to know they were dealing with the booster club and that the information offered was directly related to the booster club.”
Since then, Hicks has joined the booster club board, and he said he considers the site he manages as “one more thing to help the booster club.”
Hicks’ site is packed with everything from pictures, old scores, history and even some merchandise.
“The site gives people who are excited about Permian football a resource to go to,” Hicks said. “Hopefully this creates excitement and enthusiasm to help the program.”
