A pair of Pecos High School athletes are among several that recently have signed to compete at the collegiate level.

Leah McWilliams signed a full scholarship to play volleyball for the University of Alaska-Anchorage of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

In one season at Pecos, McWilliams was named the District 4-3A MVP and helped the team reach the Class 3A regional quarterfinals. She played three previous seasons at Marfa, which included a Class 1A regional tournament appearance in 2006.

Also from Pecos, diver Hector Roman signed to continue competing at Incarnate Word.

Roman received the Region I-4A Diver of the Year award last season after scoring 397.10 points at the meet in Andrews. That qualified him for the UIL Class 4A State Swimming and Diving Championships, where he scored 350.90 points to finish sixth out of 16 competitors.

Incarnate Word competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference for swimming and diving along with UTPB.

Earlier this month, Crane's Lloyd Chisum signed to play baseball at Eastern New Mexico while Ryan Diaz of Andrews is headed to Grayson County Community College.

Andrews also has a signing ceremony scheduled for 2:05 p.m. Friday, which will include girls golfer Morgan Dockery signing with McLennan Community College.
