McCAMEY Badgers coach Chris McWilliams said he’s looked at the tiebreaker rule for District 5-1A Division II and as he understands it, his team clinched the district title Friday with its 33-0 win over Marfa.
McCamey (7-2 overall, 3-0 district) can eliminate all doubts about the district championship with a win Friday at Van Horn.
J.J. Casarez led the way for the Badgers, rushing for three touchdowns. He gained 94 yards on 14 carries.
David Pineda didn’t reach the end zone, but he added 110 rushing yards on 11 carries.
McCamey finished with a 458-231 edge in total offense against Marfa (3-5, 1-2). The Badgers gained all but 51 of those yards on the ground.
