Football: Extra tickets won't be available until Saturday

The Ector County Independent School District has sold out its allotment of tickets for Saturday’s Class 5A Division I bi-district playoff between Permian and Mansfield High, but fans should still be able to get into the game, ECISD director of public information Mike Adkins said.

No. 5 Permian (10-0) and Mansfield High (8-2) play at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gordon Wood Stadium in Brownwood.

Adkins said the Mansfield ISD has requested to keep its ticket allotment through Friday.

Whatever is not sold by then will be returned to Brownwood and sold at the stadium.

“We feel like there will probably be about 3,000 tickets available that morning,” Adkins said. “We have to gauge that on what Mansfield has sold up to this point.”

All tickets sold Saturday will be $8. Ticket windows will open at 11 a.m.

In addition to whatever seats are available on the Mansfield side, Brownwood officials will bring in portable bleachers and have designated standing-room sections behind each end zone.
