Track and field: Buena Vista's Dillard qualifies in shot put
Comments 0 | Recommend 0LEVELLAND Buena Vista High School's Danyelle Dillard is headed to the UIL State Track and Field Championships.
Dillard qualified during Tuesday's competition in the Region I-1A Championships at South Plains College by finishing second in the shot put with a toss of 36 feet and one-quarter inch.
Anton's Kelsie Dutton won the competition at 37-0.75, while Dillard's runner-up effort edged out Ashlee Cavazos of Seagraves (35-11).
The state meet is scheduled for June 5-6 in Austin.
